Greetings!
I am a native Coloradoan and daughter of two Colorado State Alumni. As an English Literature major (who is also working towards a History minor), I am invested in literature, literacy, and the joys of creativity. In what little spare time I possess, I am drawing, enjoying my garden and bonsai and my family’s menagerie; which includes two horses, four goats, and four chickens.
This blog is dedicated to the CLC at Colorado State University. When I was in elementary school, my fellow students and I were asked “what would you do to help the world if you could do anything?”
“Make sure everyone in the world has everything they need to learn to write” I said. And then that aspiration drifted away under the deluge of my adolescent years, utterly forgotten. Only when my lovely academic adviser, who pushed and motivated me to apply to this internship position, gave me that fateful application, did that young dream return. Which is why I am involved with the Community Literacy Center, located at Colorado State University.
I hope to be of use and support for others, assist in the furthering of the SpeakOut! Program and the creation of a community of literacy, and finally gain a deeper understanding of the community I’ve lived in my whole life.
